My New Year's Eve Outfit

A black blazer, a pair of black coated jeans, a silver & black top combined with gold jewelry and dark red nails. That will be my look for tonight. I especially love my new silver & black glitter top from SuperTrash. It has a small open back and I think it's perfect for New Year's Eve.

I have to say that I can't believe today is already the last day of 2013. This year flew by so fast! It sometimes still feels like I came back from Madrid a couple of months ago, but I have been back for a whole year already. Many things happened, things have changed and I think that is something I needed. I absolutely don't want to talk spiritually, but I think this year was a year that made me grow as a person.

Alright then, done with that talk. I just want to wish you all a lovely night! Do whatever you want to do on the last day of 2013 and at midnight ring in the New Year with all your loved ones. Taste the champagne and enjoy the fireworks!

Yesterday and even today I ran from place to place to buy the last Christmas gifts. Now that the wrapping is done, the presents are waiting to be opened under the Christmas tree. I haven't really peeked what's already under the tree, but I'm afraid I can't take it no longer. I'm so excited, I still have to be patient though...

Soon it's time to start preparing all the delicious Christmas foods. On Christmas Eve me and my family have a tradition to bake all sorts of baguettes, croissants, etc. Later on in the evening I expect the gifts to be unwrapped. Since I'll be working all day tomorrow, we unfortunately won't have a Christmas dinner on the first day of Christmas, but we'll have brunch instead. In the Netherlands we also have a second day of Christmas on the 26th of December, so we decided to have our traditional Christmas dinner then. 

For now, I think it's time to curl up on the sofa and play a nice Christmas movie, because nothing beats a good movie at Christmas!

Welcome Mr. Jacobs

A couple of weeks ago I visited Marc Jacobs' website and when searching through his collection my eye fell on the Sweetie Ring Necklace. Ever since that moment this beauty was on my mind. The simple necklace is not too long and has three enamel ring charms, on one of them Marc by Marc Jacobs' logo is visible. I wouldn't wear necklaces in everyday life, but sometimes a simple outfit paired with a nice piece of jewelry is just a must. 

During my shop attempts I looked for the necklace, but unfortunately I couldn't find the right color. I somehow visited the website of the Dutch department store, De Bijenkorf, and out of the blue I saw the necklace. And to make it just a little bit better, it was on sale! Couldn't get any better, right? So I immediately ordered it and three days later Mr. Postman rang the doorbell! I love the gold and cream combination of this necklace!

Such a nice piece of jewelry is a big yes for once in a while, don't you think?

Christmassy things

Oh, what a wonderful time! I'm already getting ready for Christmas by putting up the Christmas tree. This year we changed the colors of the Christmas tree decoration as I got inspired by a beautiful tree I saw on Pinterest. It looked so wintery and cozy, so I wanted to give it a try. When wandering in the garden centre I saw snowy white Christmas baubles and also looked for other cute decorations such as big snowflakes which really make a statement in my opinion. After buying a new Christmas tree on Saturday my sister and I decorated the tree on an early Sunday morning.

A while ago I got ScentChips as a present. With this 'candle' you can create your own fragrances. Simply choose one to four different fragrances, called chips, to create your own blend. Put the chips on the scentburner, turn on the tea light and the chips will melt. I can assure you, your room smells delicious.

Mmm, hot chocolate in a Christmassy mug! My music playlist has also changed to get into the mood. Skyradio, a Dutch radio station, plays Christmas music more and more everyday. Also, Michael Buble's Christmas CD is on repeat! Oh, I literally love that album. ''It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...''
By the way, I cannot wait to go to his concert in January!! Whaaa!!

 I love curling up at the sofa with a blanket, some nice wintery pillows and a cup of hot chocolate. Still waiting for the first snow to fall though.. It's getting colder outside, yet not cold enough haha!

Welcome December!! Yes, lovely readers it's finally December 1st and I think that's a good excuse to start sharing my Christmas wish list with you. I have been writing down some gift ideas for my family, it's still pretty difficult, but I feel like I have some good inspiration thoughts. But first, I'll let you know what I wish this year. 

My Santa's package consists of bow studded earrings, some coffee mugs, Starbucks caramel syrup and a gift card from the perfume and make up store Douglas.

I also wish for a powder brush by Leco. I already have a blush brush by the same brand, and I really like to work with it, so another brush would definitely fit in my collection. Furthermore, during the winter I always have cold feet, so I really wish for some warm, cozy slipper boots. The ones you can see above are not the ones I'm wishing for, but since I can't find the perfect ones on the Internet I've put some random slippers in my wish list above.

 Then nr. 7, a Yankee candle, the smell of these candles are so good and it makes your house or room look really cozy. At last but not least I wish for two books. The Revenge Wears Prada is the sequel to the novel The Devil Wears Prada, it such a girly book. And also, since I like cooking and baking a lot I wish for a new baking book by Rudolph van Veen, it's called Rudolph's Bakery.
