Lazy Sunday

Sunday, November 24, 2013

For the last couple of months I have been working on my final thesis for my study and, oh boy, it stresses me out! Not a day goes by without working on my dissertation. Even if I give myself a day off, I still work on it.. in my head. It's haunting me!!

My alarm clock didn't go off this morning, so I finally had my long needed sleep, which was, by the way, still not long enough haha! Even though it feels like that something chases me, I just want to have a lazy day. I'm still enjoying my afternoon coffee whilst reading a magazine that covers the latest trends, so at least I try to relax. But yes, I know myself. I know that I'll be working on my dissertation right after I wrote this post. I need to finish my final thesis before December 17th, meaning there's not much time left!! Now it haunts me even more..

I also realize that Christmas comes around the corner and I should be thinking about the gifts that I'm giving. Plus, in less than two weeks it's Sinterklaas in the Netherlands. For the ones who don't know what it is; Sinterklaas is a traditional winter holiday that is celebrated on the evening of the 5th of December with gift exchanges and feasting with family and/or friends. This Dutch holiday tradition can be related to Santa Claus in North-America.. Just imagine a man with a long white beard wearing red and reward children for being nice. My family and I will celebrate Sinterklaas with the so-called surprises. A couple of weeks ago, each person randomly was assigned to someone whom they anonymously buy presents for and on Sinterklaas evening the gifts will be given. Fortunately for me, most of the presents are already in good shape and no longer waiting for packaging. :)

Pinterest

Since last year I started to use Pinterest. I knew the website for a longer time and I often visited it, but after some considerations I decided to actually start using it. For the ones who don't know what Pinterest is, it's an online inspiration board where you can 'pin' the pics you find interesting. I really got addicted to this, it's really fun! You don't have to go through all your computer documents in order to find that certain picture you were looking for the whole time. Pinterest makes it all easy for you. You make a board, you pin (or like) the picture that you find interesting, and it's saved.

You got a little curious? Well, below you find some of my so-called pins.

Are you on Pinterest already? If so, it would be great if you put your link down below in the comment box. If you're not on Pinterest yet, I can really recommend it! I have to warn you though.. it's addicting!

Today I also made a Facebook page about my blog, feel free to like the page!

SuperTrash Odile Coat

Sunday, November 3, 2013

Goodness how I love SuperTrash! Everytime when I go shopping, I always find a nice piece of clothing by this brand. Last weekend I went to Rotterdam and visited the SuperTrash store, it's such a beautiful store. I took a look at their new fall/winter collection and it didn't leave me disappointed. There was one piece of clothing that I immediately saw: a camel wool winter coat. Odile Coat Squirrel is the name, and oh boy, I'm so happy with it! I like that the model is a bit longer, but still not too long. The detachable fur collar, the pockets and the nice details make the whole look complete!

I'm especially happy about the coat since a (light) camel coat is something I have been wanting to find for a while and this coat fulfilled that wish! Normally I would buy a black or another dark shaded coat, but this time I wanted to bring a bright touch into my closet. It's a classy piece that can be used everywhere, at anytime.

Back in autumn

Friday, November 1, 2013

Autumn has definitely started since the severe storm that battered us last week. On one hand I'm a little sad about it as I love the summer season, but on the other hand I'm happy about it. Leaves change color and fall from trees, squirrels nibbling on acorns, pine cones, pumpkins, hot chocolate, burning candles.. Description in one word? Coziness. I love the idea of being home, watching movies and series under a warm blanket with a cup tea while it rains outside. For me, that's the typical autumn feeling.

This week I have another week off, just like last week.. Lucky me I guess. However, I still had several school deadlines to meet. I finished and submitted my research paper and portfolio for my Journalism & Media minor. Fingers crossed that I passed the course! Today I planned to work on my final dissertation, but honestly I gave myself a day off. I went out for a walk, took the camera with me and shot some pictures. It sounds perhaps a bit cliché or cheesy, but I like to go for a walk by myself or with my dogs. I have a lot going on in my mind lately, and getting some fresh air helps me to clear my mind and set everything straight. It just gives me rest I need.

Having said that, I'm going for a looong run now. Love it!

Enjoy your day!! :)
