Before it's in fashion, it's in the Dutch Vogue

Monday, March 26, 2012

A few months after the announcement, the very first Dutch Vogue has finally arrived last week. There was a lot of speculations going on about who was going to be on the first cover. Doutzen Kroes? Or maybe Lara Stone?
Nope, three upcoming models were the lucky ones: Ymre Stiekema, Romee Strijd and Josefien Rodermans, photographed by Marc de Groot.

Looking at the cover and running through the pages, all I could think about was that the first Dutch issue completely captures the mood of Winter into Spring.

If you haven't got it yet, here's a little sneak peek.

I believe it's a real honor for a small country like The Netherlands to be part of the Vogue family. Karin Swerink did a great job!

What do you think about the first Dutch Vogue?

I'm going on exchange to...

I have really exciting news to share!

I'm studying European Studies at The Hague University and currently I'm in my second year. The study contains multiple subjects in an international perspective such as politics, marketing, culture, etc. It also contains languages, which are very important during this study. Besides Dutch and English, I study French and Spanish. I wish I could study more languages though, such as Italian, Chinese, Swedish, a little bit more German, and so on and on..

In my third year I'll go on exchange to a university somewhere in the world, but outside The Netherlands. Last year it was told me that it was not possible to go to Spain. For me it was such a pity, because all I wanted was going on exchange to Spain.
But.... A couple of month ago a university in Madrid announced that they offer 15 English courses! I was so happy to hear that. After a short motivation interview, I got an e-mail that I was chosen for the exchange to Madrid. I couldn't have been happier!

I was still waiting for the letter to make it officially official, because you never now what else can happen haha! ;-)

Before it's September 2012 and all this can happen, I have to face many exams!
So I say, back to studystudystudy! Wish me luck!

Mexitalian wraps

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

You have those days when you're in a cooking mood. Here's one good recipe I've made a few times.

Ingredients:
Ground meat, Italian vegetable stir fry and Mexican wraps (including tomato ketchup mix, Mexican spice mix etc).

Step 1: Cook the meat and add the vegetables. When it's almost ready, you can add the Mexican spice mix with a little bit of water for an extra flavor twist.

Don't forget to preheat your oven to 200°C!

Step 2: In the mean time, add water to the tomato ketchup mix. Leave it for 5 minutes and spread it on the wraps.

Step 3: Put the meat and the veggies on the wraps and roll it.

Step 4: Leave the filled wraps in the oven for around 10 minutes.

And.. That's a wrap!

Very easy to make and it tastes very good!

Buon appetito! ;-D
