IT'S ALL ABOUT EYEBROWS

Monday, April 13, 2015

Eyebrows are features that can make or break your face. I mean, type 'celebs without eyebrows' into Google and you get funny results. No one wants a broken face, so it's important to get those brows in shape. I used to have problem brows, I didn't have that much hair and I kept them thin. Until last year when I decided to stop plucking and let my eyebrows grow. Thank Lord I was on time! If you keep plucking your brows, the hair starts thinking 'oh you keep plucking me? I'll stay away next time then.' So stop plucking so much peeps! Anyways, compared to what I had, my brows look fuller, thicker and - more importantly - much more in shape nowadays. Every 3-4 weeks I dye my brows, so that when I'm going au natural, my face looks more defined. Still, I don't have those killing Keira Knightley and Emma Watson eyebrows, but I might have found a product that makes my eyebrows make my face.

Back in high school I started using eyebrow products and ever since then I've tried various brow pencils by Chanel or Dior. Last year, however, I totally got hooked on Anastasia Beverly Hills' eyebrow products. Their selection is amazing and the different shades are beautiful. I've been using the brow powder in the color Chocolate and I honestly can't live without it as they make my eyebrows look fuller in a very natural way. The powder is very easy to work with and it stays on almost all day - as long as you don't rub your face at least haha. So I guess I could say no other eyebrow products for me! Have you tried any Anastasia's products already?

WEDNESDAY THOUGHTS

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Good morning everyone! I'm truly sorry for the silence on the blog lately. Even though I can find time to write and take pictures, I honestly haven't managed to post them on my blog. One of the reasons is that I'm sort of stuck as I'm doubting and feeling insecure about my current blog situation. Therefore, I've been thinking about if I should change my blog name or not. In my opinion 'Simply Chic' is not strong enough and I'm still not satisfied with the current situation. This leads to the fact that I find it hard to keep my blog updated. I still feel a little uncomfortable sharing my posts with others, even though I really, really, really want to! I want to put much more effort in my blog and the only way I can do so is when I support my own blog for the fully 100%. Though, the advantage of Simply Chic is that my readers know me by this blog name and it's a bit stressful to switch the things around (I'm also considering switching to WordPress). Still, I think my blog would do better if I change. Brainstorming sessions have been going on for many days, but I haven't come up with 'the one and only blog name'.

What would my new blog name be? Should I play with my personal name or should I go for something completely different? I would love to hear from you guys. So, feel free to leave a comment down below. You would really help me out here, because I'm stuck! Have a lovely Wednesday! :)

Nike Free Run 2

Saturday, February 14, 2015

Who would have ever thought that I would buy a pair of sporty sneakers? I surely didn't! Or secretly maybe a bit...

In my previous post I already mentioned that my sneaker hunting part had begun and I've finally found the right pair. I firstly thought these Nike Free Run 2 were too sporty for me, but as of the moment I put them on, I knew I found my pair of sneakers. These shoes are sometimes also used for running, but I'm not planning to use them for sporting. When the weather is getting better and there's no need to wear coats or jackets anymore, I'm sure I'll put on a long cardigan and slip into these shoes. That would look great, don't you think? Hopefully we don't have to wait that long, because I can't wait to show you it in an outfit post.

I don't think it's a big surprise I chose black since I like to wear neutral colors, but I'm afraid that when Spring is around the corner I can't control myself buying a bright colored pair.. or light grey ones.. or.. no, no stop it haha!

Anyways, what do you think of these sneakers? Do you own a pair already?

Sneaker Inspiration

Monday, February 2, 2015

It took me quite a time to convince myself to start wearing sneakers outside the gym. I'm much more of a person who wears either boots or flats. Ok, I have to admit that I do own a pair of white converse, but that's it. I somehow always found that a pair of sporty shoes didn't really suit me. The trend of wearing sneakers is daring me though. Some outfit inspiration pictures on Pinterest convinced me to start hunting for a nice pair of running shoes. But (yes, there's a but) as I mentioned lots of times before, I can be quite picky sometimes. So the question remains 'what kind of sneakers do I want to buy?' New Balance or Nike Run? And what about the color? Black, grey or a bright color? My my, it's not an easy decision for someone who likes lots of things, but isn't sure what she likes most. Anyways, it's pretty clear that the hunting part has begun! What do you think of the sneaker trend?
