Nike Free Run 2

Saturday, February 14, 2015

Who would have ever thought that I would buy a pair of sporty sneakers? I surely didn't! Or secretly maybe a bit...

In my previous post I already mentioned that my sneaker hunting part had begun and I've finally found the right pair. I firstly thought these Nike Free Run 2 were too sporty for me, but as of the moment I put them on, I knew I found my pair of sneakers. These shoes are sometimes also used for running, but I'm not planning to use them for sporting. When the weather is getting better and there's no need to wear coats or jackets anymore, I'm sure I'll put on a long cardigan and slip into these shoes. That would look great, don't you think? Hopefully we don't have to wait that long, because I can't wait to show you it in an outfit post.

I don't think it's a big surprise I chose black since I like to wear neutral colors, but I'm afraid that when Spring is around the corner I can't control myself buying a bright colored pair.. or light grey ones.. or.. no, no stop it haha!

Anyways, what do you think of these sneakers? Do you own a pair already?

Teddy

Saturday, November 15, 2014

Here it is, my two favorite colors in one outfit. Black and white, what else? I love these kind of outfits because it's simple, but still special. Today's main garment is, obviously, the teddy coat. Everytime when I put on this coat and feel the softness of the material, I ask myself how I ever could have doubted buying it. I wasn't particularly looking for a coat, especially since it was way too warm to even think about wearing a coat, but as soon as this teddy caught my eye, I just had to try it on. What seemed?! It was so soft I didn't want to throw it off haha. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Outfit with Faux Fur Vest

Thursday, October 30, 2014

Oh happy day! The sun came out earlier this week and I could leave my coat hanging on the hook. I am - or perhaps was - not a big fan of jackets and coats, so I was glad I could wear something lighter that still gave me enough warmth. This faux fur vest is the perfect solution for warm days during Fall.

As I already told you here, I've been craving for a faux fur vest for some years, but I somehow never managed to buy one. I mean it's not really comfortable to wear both a furry vest and a coat at the same time. I already get hot flashes by thinking of it haha. Anyway, each year, I regretted that I didn't buy such a cozy vest for warm Fall and Winter days, so there was no doubt buying a furry one this year. I think you might see this garment passing by more than once as I absolutely love it and because I have plenty of outfit ideas in mind. How would you like to wear it?

Blue Jeans & Black

Monday, October 6, 2014

As promised before, here my outfit from last week. Last Friday's outfit was definitely one of those outfits where I feel most comfortable in. I love anything involving a blazer and a tee. Those two are just the perfect casual pieces for everyday use. I have a black, burgundy and a purple blazer, but I've been craving for a beautiful white and navy one. Soon soon, hopefully!

Hello October

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Time flies by so fast, I can't believe that it's October already. I mean, in two months it's Christmas and in exactly three months we ring in the new year! Can you believe it?

Anyway, before going too fast, let's just talk about this time of the year. We happen to have a pretty warm beginning of the Fall season here. In August I really thought Autumn would come early this year, but September has been – lucky enough - surprisingly warm. As much as I love Summer, I can hardly wait to start wearing cozy knits, jackets, scarves and boots again. I recently cleaned out my closet, got rid of anything that I didn't wear or that I didn't like anymore - don't worry, I donated it all to a charity :) - and replaced the empty space with some new things. My Fall preparations already began in September, but in my opinion the cozy season really starts in October. Today's October 1st, so I think it's great idea to show you my first official Fall outfit, including my new trench coat I told you about in my previous post.

Have a lovely October everyone!

The Perfect Trench Coat

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Do you remember my Spring wish list where I wished for the perfect trench coat? I adore the Burberry ones so much and I think there’s no other brand that designs an even more beautiful trench coat than Burberry. Unfortunately, those coats are pretty expensive, so I was looking for a more affordable, still perfect, one. I can easily say that I’ve been searching for a long, long time and right at the point I started to give up and wanted postpone it to next Spring, I met this beauty from Zara.

This trench coat has the perfect color and the model with the almost-knee-length is great. It’s not too long and not too short. The brown buttons and the golden details on the sleeves and the belt make this model complete. The material is a bit sturdy, but that’s exactly what I was looking for. I bet you can already read my enthusiasm here haha.

P.s., Did I already mention that I absolutely love this coat? :)

Grey and White

Monday, September 15, 2014

It's been a week since I last posted something on my blog. I've been pretty busy working and I didn't have the time to post something earlier than today.. Sorry you guys!

I quickly wanted to share a post about my outfit of today. Apparently Autumn hasn't completely arrived yet as the temperatures have been pretty high for this time of the year and it also seems that it will continue for at least another two weeks! You don't hear me complaining haha. To keep the 'Summer' feeling alive, I feel like wearing light colors such as grey and white.. and of course, not to forget, my sunglasses and ballerina flats.

I also would like to thank my readers and followers for giving me sweet complements on my posts and photos. You guys let me smile every time I read them, I really appreciate it. I was thinking.. maybe I can write a Q+A post? What do you think about that? Let me know in the comment box down below.

Have a nice week everyone!

Olive Green

Monday, September 8, 2014

Happy Monday everyone! Just a quick post about what I wore on a birthday party last week and, as promised here, a look that includes my new classic black heels. As you probably know, I don't wear that many colors, but every time I wear something green, I receive so many sweet complements. Green and other earth tones happen to match my skin tone very well, it makes my skin look warmer I suppose. This top is definitely one of my favorites. Olive/moss green is such a beautiful color and the open back is just lovely.

P.s. When writing this post, I realized that the pictures are very, very green today haha.

Classic Black Pump

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

''A woman can never have too many shoes!'' Yes ladies, I have a weak-spot for shoes too. Most of the time I wear comfy shoes such as ballerina flats, sandals, boots, or, in some cases, my converse. I only have a few pair of heels, but luckily I caught myself wearing them more often.

I've been looking for a classic black pump for a while now, but it's actually quite hard to find the perfect pair. I have to admit that I can be a little too picky sometimes, but when I ran into these SuperTrash black heels the other day, it was love at first sight. In my opinion it has the perfect high heel and the pointy toe creates an elegant finish. I couldn't walk away empty handed, they’re simply too gorgeous!

You’ll see some better pictures in one of my upcoming outfit post. Stay tuned! :)

Autumn Wishes

Monday, September 1, 2014

Blue skies, rain, thunder, sunshine, clouds, pouring rain, blue skies, drizzle, sunshine, clouds, rain.. That basically describes the weather for the last couple of days here and I haven't even mentioned the temperatures yet. It fluctuates all the time!

Yes, it can easily be said that summer is coming to an end now, but my love for fall clothes and the idea that burning candles are allowed again, make it easier to accept that autumn is around the corner. Eventually when all my hopes for warm summer evenings are given up, I'm totally getting excited for fall. So let's take a peek at some of my autumn wishes.

Black coat - SuperTrash / Faux fur jacket - Sir Oliver / Scarfs - Acne Studios / Hat - SuperTrash / Bag - Ralph Lauren / Faux fur vest - Zara / Jeans - SuperTrash /  Sweater - Zara / White sweater - Ralph Lauren

I'm afraid that I'm about to start having a thing for coats and jackets. I always found them annoying and I was glad I could finally take them off, but I guess I start to like them more. As you can see above, faux fur is something I've got my eye glued on as well. I find it so cozy and it's just a perfect piece for fall, just like a hat. I also have been looking for the perfect cognac brown leather bag. I saw the Ralph Lauren bag online and I totally adore it. Too bad it's not available in Holland at the moment. But who knows! A new pair of blue jeans (and maybe a burgundy one since mine sadly enough died) is also a must-add in my closet. And as for the scarfs and sweaters.. I don't think you need an explanation for that. These are just crucial items for autumn and winter. Love them!

What are your wishes for this autumn? Do you have one specific item you're craving for?

Black & Blush

Saturday, August 23, 2014

I swear I wear this black blazer more than most pieces in my closet, it goes with everything! When wearing something casual, I just put on this blazer and suddenly the outfit is not that casual anymore. I am a big blazer fan, it can make such a difference. I just think it's crucial for every woman to have a black blazer hanging in her closet. So girls.. hit the town!

Today's look was black with a touch of blush. I can barely leave the house without a jacket or a blazer anymore. I don't want Summer to end so soon, it's still August. Come on Mother Nature, just wait a little longer!

Simple

Thursday, August 14, 2014

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by! Today I want to share a simple, casual look that can easily be dressed up with something extra and the right heel. You can't go wrong with the SuperTrash Trodos tops, they fit perfectly and come in many colors.

PS by the way, I just bought a new camera (Canon EOS 700D) and I'm still figuring out how it works on its best. I find the pictures still a bit overexposed. In case you have any tips, feel free to share them. I would really appreciate it! :)

I'm off to work now, have a happy Thursday!

Hi Mr. Wellington, do you have the time?

Friday, August 8, 2014

I rarely leave the house without a watch on my wrist, even when I just take the dogs out or go to the supermarket. I feel so naked when I don’t wear any accessories. Michael Kors is on my wrist basically all the time, however, I’ve been craving for a more classic, but still feminine timepiece. I’ve had my eye on Daniel Wellington’s Classic St. Andrews Lady for quite a while now and yesterday was the day I bought myself this preppy gift.

You can wear a Daniel Wellington wristwatch during any occasion. Another great thing about this watch is the fact that the straps are interchangeable.. from black or brown leather straps to Nato straps, there's something for everyone. How nice would it be if you could change your strap every day of the week? It will seem like you have a new watch every single day haha. For now, though, I'll just stick to the Classic St. Andrews Lady.

What do you think of such a classic watch? Does anyone else own a Daniel Wellington?

Summer in June

Friday, June 6, 2014

It seems that Summer is really here now! The weather has been so warm for the last couple of days and the forecast tells pretty good news as well! Since I work in the office from Monday to Friday, wearing long - black - jeans and stuff, I couldn't wait to put on my summer clothes again during the weekend. I know that most 'real' locals here think I'm just a typical tourist, especially since I wear shorts when it's hot outside and they, on the other hand, still wear jeans with jackets, but hey.. why not enjoying the sun and getting a bit tanned? I've waited too long already not to wear dresses and shorts, but last weekend I just couldn't resist it anymore.
Oh, how much I love this weather. Guess it will be beach time tomorrow!

Spring Wish List

Saturday, February 1, 2014

At the moment the weather is not so perfect here. It's too cold for this time of the year, it rains a lot and when it rains in Rome, it pours! But if there happened to be just a tiny bit of a sunbeam breaking through the clouds, it can become quite pleasant already. Spring is pretty much in my mind lately and to bring a little bit of sunshine in my closet, I can't wait to start springlike shopping! I got excited to make a list of my spring wishes. What could be better than dreaming about shopping and wearing spring clothes while it's still rainy, winter and dark outside?

I'm craving for lots of things, but the pieces above are the ones that I'm dreaming of the most lately. When putting my dream pieces together, I realized that I very much chose for neutral colors. I'm always that kind of person who chooses black over bright orange or blue for example. So yes guilty again, but this time I also chose for the more light, still neutral, colors. Spring is the time of the year to bright everything up after the dark months. White expresses the brightness again, so a white blazer and a white striped sweater, combined with - maybe this new MK- wallet, is a must for me.

I have been searching for the perfect beige trench coat for a couple of years now, but I still can't manage to find the one that has both good quality and a reasonable price. Spring is also that time of the year that it's legal to wear sunglasses again. Since I'm also dreaming of some cute leopard ballerina flats, I thought it would be nice to combine it with new leopard sunglasses. Ray-ban is one of my favorite brands when it comes to sunglasses and since I have been wanting a Wayfarer as well, maybe the tortoise model is then a good option.

Some say that if you aren't sure to buy that cute little piece of clothing, leave the shop without buying it. If it's still on your mind afterwards, you should again consider buying it. If you don't think about it anymore, it's a sign that you did the right thing not buying the product. Last weekend I went shopping in the center of Rome and I fit this black jumpsuit. I couldn't decide whether to buy it or not, but somehow it's still on my mind now. Should I buy it then.. I mean, I didn't put it in my wish list just for fun, right?

At last, but definitely not least I have fallen for a Daniel Wellington watch. It's such a classic piece of jewelry! I like the cognac leather of the Classic Lady St. Andrews, but the black Classic York lady seems also beautiful. Ooh it's hard to choose!

We'll see what I manage to buy from this list. I really hope to do so, as I think some of them are essential pieces that you just have to have in your closet. Some of the pieces are hard to find though. Maybe this year I have more luck! :)

What is your springlike dream list for 2014?

SuperTrash Odile Coat

Sunday, November 3, 2013

Goodness how I love SuperTrash! Everytime when I go shopping, I always find a nice piece of clothing by this brand. Last weekend I went to Rotterdam and visited the SuperTrash store, it's such a beautiful store. I took a look at their new fall/winter collection and it didn't leave me disappointed. There was one piece of clothing that I immediately saw: a camel wool winter coat. Odile Coat Squirrel is the name, and oh boy, I'm so happy with it! I like that the model is a bit longer, but still not too long. The detachable fur collar, the pockets and the nice details make the whole look complete!

I'm especially happy about the coat since a (light) camel coat is something I have been wanting to find for a while and this coat fulfilled that wish! Normally I would buy a black or another dark shaded coat, but this time I wanted to bring a bright touch into my closet. It's a classy piece that can be used everywhere, at anytime.
