Chunky Turtleneck Sweater

Thursday, December 17, 2015

Hi guys! How's your week going so far? I thought to share an outfit post today since it's been quite some time that I did. The weather has been fluctuating a lot these days. We've had some cold days already, but this week it's quite warm for this time of the year. Guess there will be no snow (again) during Christmas.. such a pity! But well, even though we can't really speak of sweater weather this week, I couldn't wait a little longer to show you my new turtleneck sweater. It's the perfect choice on mornings when it's (a bit) cold and you don't really know what to wear. It's so comfy and soft, guys! I totally feel like cuddling up in it haha.

My ankle boots are also new, btw. I was looking for some kind of heeled ankle boots for everyday wear, but not all types are easy to walk on. These pair, however, are very comfy! Best choice I could make!

And there is something else that I recently purchased.. Yes, it is showed in this pictures and no, I'm not gonna tell you what it is yet as I'm planning to write a separate post about it. Can you tell what it is already? :)

P.s. Only 7 days left until Christmas Eve, eeeek!

Cape Weather

Monday, October 5, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! Fall is about to kick in here and that absolutely calls for capes, cozy sweaters and ankle booties. I don't know about you, but to me capes are just the perfect piece to wear when the days are getting colder. I must say, I can't complain about the weather last week though. It was pretty chilly, but luckily the sun shined a lot! Hope that that weather continues this week, next week, and the week after and after and.. yeah well, you get my point. Right now it looks all grey-ish, ughh... Anyways, have a great week again you guys! XX

Pinky Blazer

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

I don't know what it is, but I have a thing for blazers. I've always had a weakness for these pieces, so no wonder I wear them a lot when it's too chilly to wear just a top and too hot to wear a jacket. The one I'm wearing in the pictures is so easy to wear and the pockets and the zipper around the middle just give the blazer an extra twist. I'm already thinking about other ways to style this one. It would look great with a pair of blue jeans as well.. And oh, what about adding it to a white denim and a white top? Though that might be a bit too summery for now.

Btw, that reminds me! Can you believe we're halfway September already?! It feels like in a blink of an eye that Summer is gone! I'm still crossing my fingers for lovely warm days, but I'm afraid we all have to give in as chilly days are coming. But hey, let's be optimistic, it's time for layering again. Gotta love Fall for that! I'm planning on doing a Fall inspiration post soon, so stay tuned! Have a lovely week. :)

Put a Hat on It

Friday, September 4, 2015

A hat is definitely a staple that makes an outfit a little less boring. I've been wanting to buy a hat for a longer time, but I never dared to do so. Not the buying part actually, but the wearing part. I mean, why would I buy it if I don't dare to wear it? On the other hand, if I buy it, maybe I start wearing it.. at least it's the perfect rescue for a bad hair day!

One of my favorite fashion brands, SuperTrash, launched its new a/w collection and yet again the hats were back in stock. Oeee, how much I like the model and the colors! I kept visiting the website, but never pushed the buy button. I was still doubting, but only up until this week when I bumped into the hats in real life. I hate when I'm doubting so much.. Putting the hats on and off, changing from color to color, deciding whether it suited me or not.. but finally, after 1000 times trying them on, I decided to buy the black one (loooove these and these too).

I'm still a bit shy when wearing it though.. Maybe that's because I live in a small village where fashion isn't the highest priority, I think it's much more comfortable wearing such an accessory when living in a city. But yeah, I just have to do it.. guess I have to convince myself from that first haha.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! <3

LBD & Denim Vest

Saturday, August 29, 2015

Denim, love it or hate it. I'm still not a big fan of wearing denim on denim, but in general I do like denim vests and their longer armed sisters, the denim jackets. Layering can be pretty difficult in Summer as you don't want to wear anything that makes you feel hot. Adding a denim vest, however, never can go wrong. You can basically throw it over anything you wear and it will make an outfit much more interesting. I especially love the combo of denim and black, and as for this time of the year I think a denim vest and a cute little black dress is a great look for chilly Summer days, don't you agree? :)

Skorts and Sandals

Monday, August 3, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! Today's such a beautiful sunny day. I woke up early incredibly tired, but after I noticed that the sun was shining and we had a clear blue sky, I got up immediately. Had an early appointment this morning, so I had to get up early anyways, but despite that, I need to take advantage of this bright and shiny day!

Normally it would take me a while to choose what to wear, but since it's going to be very hot today, my choice was quickly made. Style and comfort come together with skorts, a piece that is a skirt to the front and shorts to the back. I bought the skort I'm wearing today about three years ago when I lived in Madrid, I believe back then it wasn't really a trend yet, but now I see it everywhere. I've been wearing mine every Summer ever since and I'm still so happy with it. It's super-practical and yet another piece of clothing you can either wear sporty or chic. And let combing clothes in different styles be a thing I really like to do!

Royal Blue Dress

Monday, July 27, 2015

First of all thank you all so much for all the sweet birthday wishes I received personally and on my phone, via Facebook and Instagram. I had a true blast ringing in my 23rd birthday on Friday at midnight and celebrating it with my loved ones on Saturday. Even though it was raining a lot, reading all your lovely messages made it just a perfect day. :)

In today's post I wanted to show my new dress. My love for dresses and skirts has grown a lot this Summer. I fell in love with easy breezy summer dresses and this royal blue one is just perfect. I saw this exact same dress hanging in perfect coral as well and I secretly couldn't resist buying them both. These dresses are easy for dressing up, or, if it's a warm summer day, just throw on a pair of cute flats or sandals and off you go!

Basic Summer Party Look

Thursday, July 23, 2015

Aaand again it's the week of the International Four Days Marches of Nijmegen (Nijmeegse Vierdaagse in Dutch). Every year some 46.000 walkers from all over the world come and participate this event. During this event (basically four days of walking 30, 40 or 50 km), there're parties everywhere in city center. And not only these four days.. Nope, the parties start on Saturday and end on Friday. The whole year I'm looking forward to these parties, so this week is BIG for me haha. So I guess you can imagine where I'm hanging around these days! :) I've been telling myself every year again 'I will participate that march myself next year', but  I haven't managed to do so.. yet! One day.. one day. This year's the 99th edition, so next year this even will be even be bigger! Can't wait already haha. If you would like to read more about this event, read my blog post from last year. You can find it here.

This is an outfit I wore last night. Bit of a basic festival look.. a casual skinny jeans with a printed shirt that I bought yesterday and a pair of Nike sneakers. With all the beer splashing around I'm afraid of wearing dresses and pretty shoes haha. Have you ever been to these parties? And what would you wear?

P.s. do you see that my hair is dark again? For the very first time my beloved sister dyed it instead of the hairdresser. I was a bit scared in the beginning, but it turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I'm a happy gal again!

Hope you're all having a great week as well! Tell me your plans in the comment box down below, I'd love to read it! :)

Casual

Thursday, July 16, 2015

Black and white is an all time favorite combination of mine. When I go shopping I look for pieces that easily match with what I already have in my wardrobe. When bumping into this faux leather bike jacket the other day, I knew it would do that.

Do you know those days when it's all drizzly outside and you don't really feel like dressing up so much? It's great that basic pieces such as a black skinny jeans and a plain white tee can be less boring just by adding a great jacket and a nice pair of shoes. I'm such a big fan of this jacket! I mean, it's a perfect piece to wear on a rainy day like yesterday. Today's weather is different though, I can finally see and feel the sun on my skin again... let's get the dresses, skirts and shorts out of the closet!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Hope you're all having a wonderful sunny day! :)

P.s. don't you notice that my hair looks a bit ombre again? Ughh!! Five weeks ago I dyed my hair all dark again and I couldn't be more happier with it as I was done having an ombre look (which was supposed to be balayage btw). Now, however, compared to how I dyed my hair last time, the layers look so light and I do feel a bit disappointed. I'm thinking about going back to the hairdresser to dye it all dark again. What do you think? Should I wait a couple of months as the Summer sun makes the hair lighter anyways, or should I just go and dye it already? Let me know what you think!

Lady In Red

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Have you ever noticed how certain colors are able to transform your mood? Well, I most certainly did when I put this coat on. Even though I prefer wearing neutral colors - especially black - red is one of those colors I really like. It's bold and always makes a statement, so ladylike! Now that Summer is - or actually should be - here, I've been catching myself picking the more bright colors out of my wardrobe. The grey skies and the rain we had the last couple of days, don't give me that happy summer feeling at all. So why not wearing that happy summer feeling? Like this coat, I fell for it immediately. Red will never go out of style, it's such a timeless color and it somehow makes me feel cheery.. Now I definitely can confirm that colors really can change your mood haha!

A REDDISH SNEAK PEEK

Monday, June 8, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! Here's a little sneak peek of an outfit that will come up on the blog very soon. I tend to wear lots of black, but with the sunshine we had the last couple of days, I really felt like adding some colors. And today, yeah well, I felt like lady in red haha. More on the blog soon, stay tuned! :)

NORDIC SHADES

Friday, May 15, 2015

Now that I saw Stockholm myself (see my Stockholm photo diary here), I completely understand why this city is loved by so many street style bloggers. Everywhere I looked I saw men and women wearing trendy and well considered outfits. Not just one or two persons who chose the perfect balance between various colors, materials and accessories. No seriously, almost everyone! I l-o-v-e the Scandinavian street style, so this city was definitely a Valhalla for me. Basically, this Nordic style can be defined as simple and effortless. Less is always more when it comes to accessorizing and basic pieces are essential to any wardrobe. I saw lots of girls wearing long coats or cardigans paired with black jeans and stylish sneakers. Like I said, simple and effortless, but so fashionable. Totally my style!

Btw, these pictures were taken in Stockholm. I somehow felt much more comfortable taking these pictures.. probably also because the background is much better than the boring countryside in the Netherlands haha. It's hard to find good places to shoot in my village, such a bummer..

MAXI CARDIGAN & STAN SMITH

Friday, April 17, 2015

Friday, how did we get here so quickly? Can't believe it's almost weekend already - for most people at least, as I work on weekends as well. It was such a sunny week here in Holland! I know I talk about the weather quite often, but I just can't help it that I'm feeling much better when the sun shines.. and I so needed that! The first signs of Spring are here, so you can imagine that I sat outside in the sun almost all day haha. I hope this weather continues, because I'm so over the cold, rainy days.

As of late, I catch myself choosing a different style when it comes to my outfit choices. Still simple, but sometimes a little more sporty. How come? Well, as I said before, I wasn't really a big sneaker fan, but recently I've been having my eye on them. Last week Mr. Postman delivered these white Stan Smith sneakers. I was a bit concerned about the size, but they fitted perfectly. I'm so happy I ordered these! And as you can see, long cardigans and Spring coats are the replacements for my winter jackets.. I actually like the combo of the maxi cardigan with the sneakers. What do you think?

Hope you have a sunny weekend!
